Who We Are
Our Mission
1803 invests in and for Black Portland, beginning with Albina. We advance generational wealth and well-being by investing in community power, financial tools, and real assets.
Through strategic investments, we are helping build an opportunity economy where prosperity is shared, participation is expanded, and belonging is strengthened.
Why Here?
Why Now?
The lands and waterways surrounding the Willamette River have connected people, commerce, and culture for thousands of years. They tell stories of Indigenous stewardship, Black contribution, migration, displacement, resilience, and possibility.
Today, Albina is now one of the last centrally located districts in Portland yet to be fully redeveloped. The same riverfront, freeway access, and proximity to downtown that once made it vulnerable to displacement now make it highly desirable in a growing city.
1803 exists to ensure this next chapter creates pathways for community participation, ownership, and long-term prosperity.
